First things first.

HELLO!

We are Alycia & Zeshan and we’re very excited to be here, writing about the topics we love, the lessons we have learned and sharing them with all of you! Our hope is to help anyone looking for it.

I mean, who doesn’t google??

And before we go any further, YES, Zeshan totally approved the color scheme to this blog and loves it! 🙂 

So, let’s get to it…who are we??

Now, why on earth did we decide to create a blog of all things?? Let’s be real, there’s a ton of bloggers, writing about all kinds of things, creating all kinds of ebooks and online courses and programs, etc. etc.

WHY ARE WE BLOGGING?

We are very “go with the flow” kind of people. In fact, we don’t quite operate how most will call normal but it’s totally what makes us who we are, and we love it!

We know things happen, they happen for a reason, and we just embrace it all (sometimes easy, sometimes we pep talk ourselves like everyone else). Our relationship is the same way…we just go with it. 

Like, married in Central Park two weeks after getting engaged, go with it. Yes, you read that right! And yes, we write about it.

Anyway, Zeshan sends me a video one night about starting your own blog. I have no idea how he came to find this video but he’s ALWAYS finding great stuff and sharing it. 

Sidenote: The way we operate – Zeshan reads, watches, finds something. He sends it to me. He says “Do what you feel you must. It may be something, it may be nothing. I did my part.”

So I checked out this video Zeshan sent me and kept going, watching video after video and before I knew it, the site Coffee Cupcakes & Kids was purchased! 

The second we settled on a name, all we could think about was what topics to write about. Once we honed in on the topics, naturally our list of blog ideas started growing quickly. It was derived from all the lessons we have learned over the years and from just plain living. 

WHAT WE WRITE ABOUT

Health

We have been on quite the journey when it comes to our health. Before we had Trudie, we were at the gym, walking all over NYC, playing sports, you name it. 

We did meal prep, we came up with systems that worked great for us, we tried out tons of recipes and new ingredients…Zeshan even had to train for 9 months as a bodybuilder for a movie! 

We both became our healthiest selves…and then we became parents. 

Nothing can prepare you for the life you live after having kids!

Now we’re on a new journey working to get back to that healthy place but with new circumstances – being busy parents in a new city and with a different perspective. 

We want to share all this information with all of you. Who knows, it could inspire you, get the wheels turning, or help you to achieve a goal.

Kids

Since we are parents, naturally we would write about information pertaining to kids. It could be in the form of tips, tricks or how to handle them in certain circumstances.

I, Alycia, spent my college years as a nanny and saw and learned A LOT. In addition to that, I also grew up around babies and little kids and absolutely loved it. Actually, I expected to have four or five kids of my own.

In fact, when we had Trudie we expected it to be easy. We both had lots of experience with kids, I mean for the first few months they do A LOT of sleeping…we couldn’t have been more wrong.

Trudie was not like any kid either of us ever encountered. She did not sleep a lot, she was very alert, was trying to stand by 2 months old and wanted to nurse all the time. 

We got a high maintenance baby! (haha)

As a result, our articles on kids hope to help others who went through what we did and who are looking for help and tips.

Mommy Corner

From the multiple kids I have watched, and now the one I actually mothered, I have LOTS of tips and tricks and helpful information for Mamas. 

I talk about everything from body changes to breastfeeding and even dealing with loss. 

Mom’s need a lot of support and love for all we do and all we are capable of. I want other Mama’s to know they are not alone and they have a place to come and read helpful articles, and even ask questions if they have it.

Marriage

So yes, we are married and therefore write about marriage. There is more to this, however. 

I was married previously, which is a story in itself. All of those lessons get included in our articles and includes what not to do, what to do for a happy marriage, how to have a stronger marriage, etc.

We want to share what we believe to be the reason for our very happy marriage. We 100% support each other, love each other unconditionally and love to be around each other all the time.

Isn’t that how marriage should be??

The Melting Pot

We have lots of articles that we just weren’t sure where to put. So we created a category called The Melting Pot. It includes all these articles we just had to write. 

And what are those things?

We write about our Central Park marriage, budgeting and how we were able to save more without making more, changing careers, moving across the country, etc. 

Like we said, it’s a melting pot of topics! 

Product Reviews

There are lots of products we have come to love, in fact, products we like but would like to see improved. 

We’re always looking for a good, honest review when we go shopping for certain items and even though Amazon does have some great reviews, we’re always looking for more.

We want to include here a detailed list of things we love about the product, and the things we would even change. And if it’s not something we would change, it’s definitely something we would warn other buyers about.

Recipe Reviews

Are you ever scrolling through pages of recipes, searching pinterest for the perfect cookie recipe? We definitely do, which is why we are helping you out!

We have gone through the pain (not really, we get to taste it all) of trying multiple chocolate chip cookie recipes, cake batters, frosting recipes, and even homemade pop tarts to tell you the best of the best we’ve found.

No need for you to go endlessly searching! Come check out our reviews of the recipes we’ve made, any tricks we picked up, things to watch out for, and why we loved it.

OUR GOALS

NUMBER 1 – we wanted to share these lessons and all this information with anyone who may need them – or who is willing to listen…am I right??

In writing our posts, we’ve discovered we LOVE the #5 and we stumbled onto it without even realizing it. As it is with all things for us, we realize and learn organically. What we mean is, we don’t push it or go hunting, we live life and what happens happens. 

So why do we love the #5? It feels substantial, rounded and just plain right. Most, if not all of our posts, include 5 solid tips/reasons/how to’s based on the topic we are writing about. 

We’re all about providing meaningful, valuable content. We believe in QUALITY over quantity. Our goal in life is really just to help others as much as we can, to help them navigate whatever it is they need.

NUMBER 2 – we want to create a community where our readers contact us, reach out to us with questions or requests for article topics, and a place where love just goes all around. 

We’re all about supporting each other, helping each other and loving each other. If you like that kind of thing and want to be part of a community like that, PLEASE join us! The more the merrier.
